Building Futures

Montem Academy supports pupils to develop in many diverse aspects of life. As part of our commitment   to pupils Personal Development, the school has a programme of career experiences for our senior pupils. Through our Career’s programme, we aim to encourage pupils to aspire, make good choices and understand what they need to achieve in order to succeed in their future careers. Our Careers programme offers unbiased career advice and opportunities for pupils to explore a range of careers; they will be encouraged to pursue their dreams and aspirations.

 

Year 6

Fiver Challenge

This event enables our year 6 pupils to develop their business skills

Year 6 & 5 Autumn Term

Montem’s Careers Fayre

This event enables pupils to meet with professionals from a range of careers including:  Teaching, Police, Health Care, the World of Banking, Dentistry, Performing Arts, and Journalism.

Year 6 Spring Term

Employment Settings

This event enables the pupils to visit different employment settings to experience the atmosphere and working conditions associated with particular settings, including local businesses such as O2, supermarkets, fire stations, newsroom, graphic design company and a sporting venue

Year 5 Spring Term

Meet the professional

This event enables the pupils to speak to professionals about their career. The pupils will have the opportunity to discuss each profession in detail and to look at examples of work. The professions explored include: Solicitors, Doctors, and Architects to name a few.

Year 3 & 4 Spring Term

Aspire to Achieve

During this event our younger pupils will discuss their career aspirations. Parents will be invited in during a show and tell session to talk about their careers and how our families contribute to the local and wider community.

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & 2 Summer Term

What I want to be went I grow up

During this event our youngest pupils will experience a dress up day focusing on what they want to be when they grow up; learning songs and acting out in the role play areas.
