Family Support Information

"EVERYONE TO EXCEL THROUGH PRIDE AND AMBITION"

At Montem Academy, we strive to ensure our pupils and their families are always at the heart of what we do. We want to support every member of the Montem Community, so we offer a range of opportunities for parents and carers to learn new skills, improve their wellbeing, feel more connected to the school and meet other parents.

We currently on offer:

Coffee Mornings

Our weekly coffee mornings are a great way to meet new parents, unwind and take time for yourself. Run by our Child and Family Support Workers, Mrs Bishop and Mrs Jones, they take place every Wednesday between 9-10am in our school canteen. Some sessions are joined by external visitors to discuss different topics such as additional needs or cost of living, and some weeks even take place in our local Costa! Everyone is welcome!

Active Walk

Join Mr Turab on an active walk in the local area every Monday from 9-10am and enjoy some fresh air whilst staying healthy and meeting other parents. Routes include Dorney Lake, a trip to Costa and the Jubilee River.

Green Shoots

Green Shoots is our parenting gardening club which takes place every Tuesday morning 9-10am in the garden area next to our Development Centre. The next project is planting and growing a range of fruit and vegetables. Green Shoots is a great way to relax, take up a new hobby and socialise with other parents

Adult Learning Courses

We work closely with Slough Borough Council to ensure our parents/carers have access to a range of learning opportunities. Courses are held in Montem’s Development Centre or Chalvey Grove Family Hub and are low in cost to join (or free to those on some benefits). Courses currently on offer are: Aspects of Parenting, ESOL, Supporting your Child with Maths Homework, Sewing, Macrame and Cooking.
To find out more about how to enrol, please contact Mrs Bishop via the school office on 01753 528050.

Personalised Support

If you feel that you are in need of support and would like to speak to someone, please contact a member of our Safeguarding and Pastoral Team if you would like to speak to someone or need some support. All members of the team can be contacted via the school office on 01753 528050
